My Favorite Things: A Hip Handmade Holiday

I wanted to start posting about some of my favorite things, not because I think I’m like Oprah, but just because every now and then I come across something so cute and sweet that I just have to share it! A Hip Handmade Holiday is first up on my list.

I’m lucky enough to have extremely talented friends, and Alison of The Alison Show might just take the cake of my craftiest, most motivated friend who also happens to have the grooviest dance moves. Well, she and a couple of her talented friends, like Susan from Freshly Picked, wrote a digital craft book that is filled to the brim with amazing hand-crafted holiday gifts.

Not only are there tons of gift ideas for boys, girls and even the pets in your life, but there are also hundreds of holiday gift tags, stickers, and treat bag trimmings. The crafts range in difficulty and for extra help, they even include instructional videos for some of their projects.

I fell in love with the Mr. and Mrs. Ho Ho Ho pillows and got to work right away. Below are my pillows, not bad, huh? It’s because The Craft Pack really did an amazing job with their instructions and templates. I’m also thinking of making the adorable Nutcracker Bowling League because it’s just too cute not to!

I love the idea of giving homemade and semi-homemade gifts for the holidays. Not only is it such a thoughtful way to give to your loved ones, but also it allows you to slow down and enjoy the process with your whole family. I know lots of children would love to help cut out and paste the stickers and labels on lots of gift bags. If your child has a holiday party, these gift tags would add a perfect, personalized (and inexpensive since you can print them from home) touch that your little one can feel good about!

Do you have an annual holiday sweater party? These labels would make all your spirits bright :)

So this holiday season, get your entire family involved in the giving/wrapping process. That way you aren’t stuck doing everything, and you get to spend time with your children creating amazing gifts to share and memories to hold on to for years to come.

Check back to the blog soon! I’ll be posting another one of my favorite HOLIDAY things that you won’t want to miss!
